Claude Code added a /btw sidechain conversation feature to ask questions without interrupting the task

Comparing the news, developer Lydia Hallie said that Claude now supports the new ability to quickly ask questions in current conversations, so users can ask questions to AI without interrupting the main task.

According to reports, this feature is implemented through the new command /btw, introduced by the developer Thariq. Users can start a side-chain conversation (side-chain conversation) to ask temporary questions while Claude performs a task.

This mode is read-only, does not invoke tools, and does not write to the main conversation history; relevant answers automatically disappear when the user closes the window.
