Comparatively, according to Kim 10, the US government allocated 500 million US dollars to SandboxAQ on Wednesday to develop novel chemicals and materials needed for semiconductor manufacturing in the US, including alternatives to PFAS (perfluorinated and polyfluoroalkyl substances). This funding is part of US President Trump's allocation of research funding under the CHIPS Act (CHIPS Act).

Previously, the plan provided $150 million to invest in new chip manufacturing equipment and $2 billion to invest in quantum computing. SandboxAQ, supported by Nvidia (NVDA.O), was valued at $5.75 billion in April 2025 and has raised more than $1 billion to date.
