AWS CEO: AI may reshape half of white-collar jobs, but it won't cause mass extinction of jobs
Comparing news, according to Business Insider, Amazon Cloud Technology (AWS) CEO Matt Garman recently stated in an interview that concerns that AI will cause large-scale unemployment have been exaggerated. He believes AI may change the way half of white-collar workers work, but just like the popularity of Microsoft Excel software, new technology will reshape jobs while also creating new jobs rather than directly eliminating jobs.
Additionally, Garman highlighted the important value of junior employees in the AI era, believing that they are more willing to learn and adapt. According to reports, Amazon will recruit more than 11,000 junior software development engineers and interns worldwide this year. Garman added that “learning ability” and “adaptability” will be more critical than the candidate's “specific existing skills” when hiring in the future.
