Singapore police reveal a cryptocurrency scam that stole $11.8 million through false recruitment and malware
Comparatively, according to CNA reports, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Cyber Security Authority (CSA) said a cryptocurrency scam involving false recruitment information and hacked software systems caused $11.8 million in losses.
The scam gang impersonated crypto company recruiters on LinkedIn, used fake domains to send emails, conduct video interviews, and trick victims into downloading malware on company devices to complete “technical tests” to steal session tokens, bypass multi-factor authentication, and ultimately transfer cryptocurrencies.
