Blockchain gaming guild Avocado Guild completes $18 million Series A funding round with a valuation of $200 million, led by Animoca Brands
According to CoinDesk, blockchain gaming association Avocado Guild raised $18 million at a valuation of $200 million, co-led by Animoca Brands and QCP Soteria Node. Executives from Three Arrows Capital, Solana Ventures, Polygon Studios, Hashed, Binance Smart Chain's $1 billion growth fund, and GoldenTree Asset Management also participated in the investment. The funding round only brought Avocado Guild, which had been in business for six months, to a valuation of $200 million.
The profit model of this type of union usually comes from revenue sharing agreements, and players are provided with NFTs corresponding to the game as loans, so that some players with insufficient funds can still participate in the game. This round of funding was oversubscribed. According to TheBlock, Avocado Guild's initial Series A funding plan was $5-8 million.
