Strategy prioritizes the development of STRC, cash reserves and credit operations, and does not consider share repurchases
Comparing news, Strategy Executive Chairman Michael Saylor said on Monday that the company currently prioritizes STRC preferred stock, cash reserves, and credit operations over share buybacks. Affected by Bitcoin's decline, MSTR has declined by around 38% this year. Saylor said that if MSTR shows a “very deep discount” compared to its net asset value, a repurchase may be considered, but it is currently not a priority. Strategy CEO Phong Le defended the issuance of new MSTR shares, saying that when MSTR is higher than the value of the underlying asset, issuing shares to buy Bitcoin can increase the BTC content per share. After STRC fell, the company already held $4.8 billion in cash to cover dividend payments, and Saylor plans to maintain a large cash balance to operate flexibly.
