In comparison, according to The Block, Gnosis Chain has successfully launched its version of the Ethereum Pectra upgrade. This move is seen as a key step before the Ethereum mainnet Pectra upgrade. Safe co-founder Richard Meissner is optimistic about this, believing that Gnosis Chain is highly similar to the Ethereum mainnet in terms of technology and settings, and has a huge set of validators. This successful upgrade provides confidence for the smooth deployment of the Ethereum mainnet.

Pectra is considered to be Ethereum's most important upgrade after the 2024 Dencun upgrade. It contains 11 EIPs aimed at improving user experience, network performance, and functionality. Of particular note is EIP-7702, which aims to enhance “account abstraction.” Additionally, Pectra will raise the validator staking limit to 2048 ETH and increase the number of L2 data blobs.

As a layer 1 blockchain closely related to Ethereum, Gnosis Chain was previously commonly used for testing Ethereum hard forks. Philippe Schommers, head of infrastructure at Gnosis, said that Gnosis Chain aims to accelerate the adoption of Ethereum and hopes that its Pectra implementation experience will provide valuable insight into Ethereum. The Pectra upgrade to the Ethereum mainnet is expected to take place on May 7. Despite previous failures in the Ethereum testnet, Meissner believes that the successful launch of Gnosis Chain indicates the smooth operation of Pectra on the Ethereum mainnet.
