Trump: Bezent was not instructed to interfere in the bond market at all; solving the $40 trillion US debt problem depends on growth
Comparing news, US President Trump responded to the fact that the size of US treasury bonds exceeded 40 trillion US dollars, saying that this problem has existed for 35 years. The way to resolve debt is through growth, and the US is currently achieving “very strong growth,” and it will be “easy to solve” this problem. When asked if he had ever asked US Treasury Secretary Bezent to interfere in the bond market, Trump denied it, saying “nothing at all.”
Trump said that Bezent is a “very capable person,” that Bezent himself wants to take relevant actions, and that he “has a good intuition about bonds and interest rates.” When asked if he would discuss further intervention measures with Bezent after the recovery in US bond yields, Trump responded, “The ultimate intervention is our military, and we will act when it is time to act.”
