Game Studio Distinct Discretes Studios raised $30.5 million, co-led by Bitkfraft Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital

Bitkraft Ventures and Brevan Howard Digital announced that they have co-led a $30.5 million financing for Distinct Discretion Studios, a game studio newly founded by John Smedley (co-founder of the famous game “Endless Quest”).

Tezos Foundation, Hashed, Delphi Ventures, Shima Capital, North Island Ventures, and Decasonic also participated in this funding round.

According to the statement, this round of funding will be used to support the development and release of the AAA-level shooter “Reaper Actual,” which is scheduled to be launched on Steam and Epic Games Store.

Smedley brings his rich gaming experience to the Web3 gaming sector. He has worked for Amazon Game Studios and Sony Online Entertainment, and has co-created works such as “Planetside OL2” (Planetside 2) and “H1Z1.”

According to the statement, in “Reaper Actual,” an open world extractive shooter, players will experience “player-versus-player versus environment (PvPvE) scenarios, territory battles, resource mining, and base management” on the island of Marova. Distinct Distinct Studios also stated that it has selected Etherlink, an EVM-compatible Layer 2 network built on Tezos, as the blockchain it uses to develop “Reaper Actual.”
